What would you highlight about Hostel Azucar

Very disappointing.

Most staff were friendly. Good location.

Terrible room. Didn’t feel clean, the fan didn’t work so there was a floor fan which was definitely not enough. Very uncomfortable at night times. No safe space to keep bags. Weren’t allowed to use any facilities after check out before travelling on which I have been able to do at every single hostel. We got accused of making the beds dirty and had to pay 200pesos. They only Told us his ten minutes before we had to leave and originally wanted 450pesos. We explained the sheets were probably in need of a wash because we sweat so much as it was SO hot. They couldn’t prove anything or show us anything and neither of us like arguing so we just paid 200pesos. A disappointing stay overall.

Difficult space for a hostel

Located close to Playa Norte and the ferry.

Really hot rooms, only window onto hallway right next to speaker with music playing (which was kindly turned down without problems when we asked). Uncomfortable mattress. Low water pressure in cramped bathrooms. Not a great common area.

Nice and chill place in a great spot on Isla Mujeres!

The staff was really nice and friendly especially Sheila and Yanick who were really helpful and kind. The social areas of the hostel are great such as the hammock chairs on the outside and the terrace on the roof plus the location is nearly perfect.

Nothing

The Room was with no window & air & very very hot. There were 2 fans that moved the hot air from one place to another & no air conditioner. The room smelled very funny. There is hot water only twice a day for a couple of hours.

The location is super, just a short walk from playa Norte...

The location is super, just a short walk from playa Norte and the main pedestrian strip, but far enough from the party area that you don’t hear it. Having access to the kitchen was also a nice add-on as well as free safety lockers and staff onsite throughout the day and they are all super nice! Also liked the touch of handwritten notes and the book of suggestions.

The beds in the double room were extremely uncomfortable with old spring mattresses that definitely need changing. The rOom floor was full of hair at the corners. The common areas are a great idea, but could use a bit refurbishing too, that would make a wonderful difference! Also, being a hostel on a party island, you should not expect to sleep early as psytrance music blasts on the premises until 22:30 and other guests might come in drunk and chat late until 2 am

Great location and clean.

Great location and clean. Comfy beds. Provided us with lockers. Very friendly atmosphere. Was perfect for a one night stay and especially if you're traveling in a group.

No bathroom in the rooms, just down the hallway. Mixed bedroom . Specific hot water times

Amazing location!

Amazing location! 10 min walk from the ferry and Playa Norte and lots of restaurants and shops only 2 mins from your door. Staff are lovely and friendly.

It was very clean.

It was very clean. Super nice beds. All very modern. Very good spot. Nothing to complain :)

It is a quiet hostel with no group activities or tours. No bar included, very small common area. So i would not recommend for solo travellers.

What would you highlight about Hostel Azucar

Cozy hostel for one or two nights

There are hammocks in front of the house where you can sit during the day. Also the staff (especially the girl from Slovakia) is lovely and really helpful. The matresses are comfortable and you get your own key for the front door, so you can come and go whenever you want to. There is all day long coffee and tea in the kitchen.

The rooms are small, some with, some without AC (check when booking). The room just has a little window and the AC is positioned underneath - so it gets really cold in the lower beds while it's still warm in the upper ones. When the kitchen is closed, there is no common space to sit. Times for the shower are limited and the water pressure is low (and for me it wasn't really hot).
